The PR Almond Self-sufficiency Project is moving along.
The short story: Puerto Rico imports literally tons of almonds every year. Yet we have wild almond trees all over the island that produce way more almonds than we eat.
We could be almond self-sufficient.
What holds us back?
The nuts are difficult to process.
But a group of us found a machine, raised the funds, got it here, and we are starting operations.
It is a little slow going - there is a lot more to figure out before this is feasable. But slow and steady wins the race.
Yeah, we are still figuring out this camera thingy...
