LeaderboardIn the early eighties, a group from the Puerto Rican community in the United States promoted the creation of an institution that could support the strengthening of communities in Puerto Rico. The idea had an effect among US foundations that supported promoting this novel idea, which would allow a community foundation strengthened by the Puerto Rican community to serve the communities in Puerto Rico.
That’s how the Puerto Rico Community Foundation and the Community Patrimony Fund were born, which in the past 38 years have been a legacy cultivated with love, thanks to contributions from individuals, families, corporations, and other foundations, allowing support for the Puerto Rico community with more than $80 million in donations, training, technical assistance, scholarships and emergency grants to organizations and individuals.
