Celebrating 30 years covering medical treatment and services to children in Puerto Rico
Published on November 10, 2025 by Stephanie Moore

Since 1995, Fundación de Niños de Puerto Rico (previously San Jorge Children's Foundation) has been present in the lives of families facing health challenges with their children, by covering their medical services and treatments.

This commitment is reflected in the words of Karelys Beltrán from Humacao, mother of 5-year-old Jaykob Cuadrado: “We are grateful for accompanying us throughout this process and covering the costs that our plan doesn’t cover. Little by little, we are improving our child’s quality of life, thanks to God and to you,” she shares.
Gabriella R. Lozada Fernández19 years old, San Juan, diagnosed with embryonal sarcoma of the liver.
"
I was diagnosed at age 6 with an embryonal sarcoma in the liver, and from that moment we learned about the Foundation. They provided support and help with education and treatments. The cancer diagnosis was devastating for my family and me because I was only 6 years old and had just begun my life."

We expanded access to psychological therapies and strengthened services for the only Pediatric Palliative Program in Puerto Rico, offered in the Pediatric Hospital; where we also inaugurated a classroom for hospital education, as well as in the Puerto Rico Children’s Hospital.

Additionally, 30 new providers joined our network, and we established new alliances, including SER de Puerto Rico and PedMed.

The Dávila Rodríguez Family Parents of Sebastián, 17 years old, Orocovis:  "The support we have received is so important—it gives us more strength to keep moving forward and a little more sense of security throughout our son’s treatment process. We are truly grateful for all the help given for Sebastián’s health."
