1794 active patients - We have all pediatric MD specialists available.
Medical services and treatment:
29 years paying all medical services and treatment not covered by health insurance, to children from low income families, including 18 foster homes.
$786,205 in medical services provided in 2023
School Program:
Provided by 2 in house teachers (one in Oncology ward of the University Pediatric Hospital, the other in new oncology ward in PR Women and Children’s Hospital) and 10 certified teachers who offer patients school assistance at home to help them pass the grade while receiving treatment.
Program cost $375k+ annually
New Pediatric Oncology Unit:
Only private Pediatric Unit in Puerto Rico, including a top-of-the-line Infusion Center to administer chemotherapy, medications and treatment. We have a teacher and art teacher present every day a classrooom, game room and parents dining room, soon a movie theater.
We have contributed over $300k in equipment.
Emotional Support Program:
Provided by 11 psychologists and 5 psychiatrists around the Island.
Individual and group therapy in 2 homes for girls.
Twice a week for patients, families and medical staff in the Oncology ward of PR Women & Children’s Hospital.
1022 hours of therapy offered in 2023
Pediatric Palliative Care:
In one year offered to 221 terminally ill children and supported 660 family members. We cover the fees of 2 doctors who offer consults and therapy.
1st Palliative Care program in Puerto Rico - $104k annual budget
Transportation to appointments:
We offer and cover transportation to guarantee that patients attend their medical appointments for follow up visits or treatment. Annual budget $60k+
