Actuando Por Los Animales (D/B/A Fundación Por Los Animales) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the suffering of stray dogs and cats through humane, effective, and compassionate action. Our mission is simple: to prevent more animals from being born into hardship, abandonment, and danger.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of stray dogs and cats in Puerto Rico face hunger, illness, and neglect. Through our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, community education, and targeted spay/neuter campaigns, we work to stop the cycle of overpopulation at its root. By preventing unwanted litters, we protect entire communities of animals and create safer, healthier environments for everyone.
We believe that every life matters. With the support of donors, volunteers, and partners, we are able to provide free or low-cost sterilizations, rescue support, and resources for responsible pet care. Our approach focuses on long-term, sustainable solutions that reduce suffering and promote humane coexistence.
During the last 18 years, our work has been driven by compassion, transparency, and a deep commitment to creating lasting change. Together, we can build a future where every animal is treated with dignity, respect, and kindness.
