About

Mentes Puertorriqueñas en Acción (MPA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit citizen engagement organization by and for young professionals and college students. Our work has focused on inserting young leaders around Puerto Rico and the diaspora in the social sector in Puerto Rico.

From 2010-2019 more than 234 college students and young professionals have completed the PARACa social action internship with a 71% retention rate. In the past year 2020 internship there were 29 participants in 16 centers that contributed a total of 7,565 hours, $91,876 in resources and managed 61 projects.

We are striving to expand the funding for our program to give stipends and other compensation for the college students and young professional that dedicate their summer to engage in the development of Puerto Rico social sector.
