We were pleased to host over 25 other local agriculture professionals at our finca this past Friday.  The event was co-hosted with Transición a Agricultura Orgánica de la Estación Experimental de la UPR and Florida Organic Growers.

The purpose of the day's event was to simulate an inspection of our farm to become Certified Organic by the USDA.   We know our food and practices are clean and that we use the highest standards of animal welfare available, so passing the important portions was a breeze for us....however we need to do some work on our documentation and paperwork before we complete our actual inspection....of course when dealing with any government agency they like to keep you busy with paperwork...   

To us the most exciting part of the day was to see so many other farmers show up that were wanting to move towards clean food production and the organic certification.   Raising awareness and increasing clean food production in Puerto Rico is the main goal of Comida Limpia de Puerto Rico and Finca Brutal.   We appreciate everyone's support in helping us achieve those goals!
