The Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (MAPR) is a private non-for-profit organization that operates under 501 (c)(3) tax exemption. The MAPR, cultural legacy of the Puerto Rican people, opened its doors 19 years ago with the mission of bringing accessibility to Puerto Rican and international visual arts to the general public, to encourage the enjoyment, knowledge and appreciation of cultural and artistic expressions. Since then, the MAPR has welcomed over 2 million visitors and has produced over a hundred exhibitions from local and international artists; multiple and varied workshops, courses, seminars research and education programs; concerts; lectures and symposia, that have impacted audiences of all ages and positively influenced the lives of students, teachers, families and community members.
